National Lands Day

Saturday, 9/25/10, was National Lands Day, so Matt and Lauren and I decided that we would take advantage of the free enterance into the National Parks and take a hike up to Devil's Kitchen in the Colorado National Monument. The last time that I hiked to Devil's Kitchen was about 15 years ago and let me tell you....I felt every additional 15 years. I didn't remember the end of the hike being so strenuous. However, when we headed down, I realized that Matt and Lauren jumped the path and headed straight up to the top and there was actually a gentler/kinder way to get up there. None the less, we had a great time and enjoyed a very beautiful first weekend of fall.
